A semi-antique ceramic damaged in 2024 earthquake in Noto, Japan.
Repaired with Kintsugi, traditional Urushi lacquer technique with gold powder finish. Unique item.

It belonged to a family in Noto-cho where old Japanese culture remains. Their house hosts rice fields gods and hold the rituals to wish for good harvest.
Their warehouse was utterly affected by the earthquake and a lot of ceramics which had been serving in the local rituals were broken and lost.
However some ceramics have been rescued since. This is one of the ceramics, which injured but survived.

This piece was put together by a Kintsugi artist in Nara. She obtains exquisite technique and gives new life to the hurt item.
Kinstugi shows the affection to the items, and the fact that a scar can be beautiful. It represents the resilience of humanity.
